Aki Rakuyō (落形空き Rakuyou Aki "Lit"; Emptiness in the Fallen Form) is a former shinigami of the Onmitsukidō and Gotei 13. He was the 8th Seat of the 2nd Division and was known for his amazing talent among his peers. However; due to circumstances revolving around the infamous Lavenia Rousseau, Aki had willingly signed up with her as a means to further his own goals. He is known among the Gotei 13 to be a possible future threat, and is labelled as the Child of Misfortune (災の児 Sainoji).

Sen'nō Mukuro (先王躯 Corpse of the Late King) is the name of Aki's zanpakutō. Its sealed appearance is simple, but can be considered intimidating to those he wishes. What is most prominent about his zanpakutō is its unique color, being entirely red, and any refraction still keeps it the same, core, crimson color. Furthermore; the guard of the blade remains the same, as a small tassel is attached to its edge, flying outwards. Finally; its tsuba is a majestic gold, with crimson markings within the four-leafed clover pattern. It is kept concealed within a very contrasting dark blue saya, with its length purposely heightened so that Aki may use deception within his strikes.
