Akujin (邪悪な神) is a Vizard and the main villain in the Return to Hueco Mundo arc. He is the former Captain of the First Division and the current leader of the Arrancar Five. He is the primary antagonist of Bleach: The Akujin Saga.

[edit] Appearance
He has brown hair that points to the right side of his head, amber colored eyes and a blue navy officer outfit. He is a tall man, with a seemingly emotionless facial expression on constantly. He caries a mace, that is his zanpakuto. Part of the chain seems to be attached to his ankle.

Akujin is a complicated individual, and earning his respect is an incredible feat. He usually assumes complete apathy, as it integrates directly into his torturous method of fighting. No one has ever truly seen his true personality as Akujin keeps it well hidden through his dark composure. He also has a sadistic nature, often killing everyone in sight.
His attitude greatly resembles that of Itachi Uchiha of the Naruto anime, always retaining his composure. Akujin is known to be a natural leader, taking charge through his composure, quick wits, without really trying to boss anyone around.

[edit] Return to Hueco Mundo arc
In his first appearance he is merely discussing his plans with his second-in-command, Rascar. Rascar comments on how frightening he is, as he seems to be completely calm with his plans for the Shinigami.
[edit] The Arrancar Five arc
He appears again in this arc, sitting in a throne that is seemingly suspended in air above his arrancar servants. He listens to the status report of four of the top five, before Gousuke bursts in yelling about how Lucia had released against a shinigami captain. Akujin disregards this and puts his faith in Lucia.
[edit] The Arrancar Wars arc
He heads up an assault on the shinigami in the Seireitei, but he is soon restricted from movement by Hide Yamatoro's shikai. He later comments on Kakugyo being to cocky, but also saying that Zukia would be finished if he underestimated the arrancar. He is later seen angrily fuming over Kakugyo's death and at the escape of the Fourth Division captain.
[edit] Powers and Abilities
Immense Spiritual Pressure: Rascar comments that his spiritual pressure is staggering as it is enough to give the arrancar a migraine. Even by elite captain-levels, his Spiritual Pressure is so great that Akujin can fight on-par with two other captain-level opponents, even when they release their Zanpakutō's shikai without using his full power. His energy has been shown great enough to affect entire areas to the point of disrupting energy attacks from enemies, affect others from seemingly miles away and cause them to enter a state of paralysis and confusion, and use it as a sort of armor making it impossible for him to be harmed by nothing less than the most skilled or powerful opponents. He has also demonstrated enough control to focus and unleash his spiritual pressure in the form of a powerful shockwave. When using both hands, his shockwave can cause a huge radius of destruction.
Master Swordsmanship Specialist: Akujin's skill with his sword was honed to a master level, due to the lawlessness of Soul Society during the time before his defection, letting him strike multiple times with changes of attack type (from slash to pierce) without any difficulty. His unpolished skills and strength with his sword make it so he always fights with one hand free. He only uses both hands when faced against opponents he feels will beat him otherwise. His insane cutting strength is also evident as he is capable of easily cutting through an arrancar's Hierro, which is harder than steel, as well as slicing apart a spire in Seireitei with a mere flick of the wrist. As the former Captain of the 1st Division he is one most proficient swordsman in all of Soul Society.
Flash Steps Master: He is also seen to be experienced in the art of Shunpō, being able to outstrip Ryan and Seireitou in terms of speed during a fight in the Seireitei. He is able to easily overtake both captains and arriving at their destination first without even being noticed by the other two captains.
Master Tactician: He has also shown himself as a powerful and flexible tactician, capable of adjusting seamlessly to any given combat situation. Though it can be said that the majority of his tactics rely heavily on his Zanpakutō's special ability, there are few better tactics than manipulating all the senses of your opponents, making it easier for one to attack.
Kidō Master: Akujin has a great mastery at using Kidō spells. He is skilled enough to use Kidō without the use of their incantation; he used ranked 90 level spells, and even though he did not control it entirely (utilizing only half of the spell's original strength), it was sufficient to disable an Espada level Arrancar.
Enhanced Endurance: Akujin has been shown to have an incredibly high endurance. In his first fight against the Xiaochu, Seireitou Kuchiki, who had released his zanpakutō, Akujin was losing with ease against an Shinigami-Hollow Hybrid even when the he uses his Shikai. Akujin is then told by the mighty Shinigami to give up but he fights back and after using for the first time his own Bankai he won against the Xiaochu.
[edit] Zanpakuto
Konassaiki (精神の粉砕機; Soul Crusher) is Akujin's zanpakuto. Konassaiki's sealed state takes the appearance of a mace that is attached to Akujin's leg.
- Shikai: It is released by the phrase, "Fabricate." In shikai, the mace form of it's sealed state becomes a katana with a circular guard, which takes on the appearance of two full moons intertwining. The handle is a green color.
- Shikai Special Abilities: Konassaiki's shikai gives him two special abilities. The first one he calls "Absolute dominance of fire." With it he can summon flames onto his blade and onto any opponent his blade is pointing at or touching. He can also shape the inextinguishable flames of Konassaiki into spikes that both shield him as well as burn and pierce the opponent if they touch them. Konassaiki's second ability is something he describes as "Angelic protection." He can seemingly summon parts of a giant skeleton to protect him. The bones of the skeleton are coated invisibly by Akujin's reiatsu and thus makes them as hard as steel, possibly harder.
- Bankai: Kokkaku Konassaiki (コッカクコナッサイキ, Skeletal Soul Crusher) causes Akujin's zanpakuto to transform into a huge, heavily-curved, black chinese scimitar with a silver edges. His Bankai brings forth the entire skeletal figure from his shikai power, which is about a hundred meters tall. It takes the form of a giant skeletal bakeneko that wields an immense version of Akujin's bankai zanpakuto as well as having Akujin's reiatsu surrounding it in a fiery aura. Its strength is far that in excess to Akujin's as it is more proportional to its size. It is strong enough to take an Arrancar's Cero pointblank without being damaged, and could easily smother him with its bare hands.
- Bankai Special Ability: In bankai, Akujin receives upgrades of his shikai power. The skeletal cat will do whatever Akujin does, with the plus of shielding him from all but the strongest techniques. His sword can still direct and manipulate flames, though the flame's color is now green. The flames can now engulf the skeletal cat, making for an almost perfect defense and offense.

- He has been shown using steel spikes as an attack, though it has not been revealed whether this is his zanpakuto or kido, as of yet.
