This is the official Manual of Style for Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki which sets the standards for writing, formatting, and designing articles here. All users must adhere to the Manual of Style as well as other current site policies, such as the Image Policy. Please read the following guide carefully and completely before editing. Contact a member of the administration for any questions or concerns.
Standard Articles
On the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki, Standard Articles refer to any article created by a user(s) that contains fanon or fanfiction-related content. This may include characters, techniques, items, fanfics, roleplays, etc. Users may also adapt Canon Articles for their own use (e.g., creating your own version of a canon character to expand their backstory or powers).
Standard Articles MUST use the main name space of this wiki, which means there should be no prefix before the page title. For example, other types of articles on this wiki, such as Guides and Blogs, have the namespace Guide: and Blog: before their titles, respectively. Non-mainspace articles do not necessarily adhere to the Manual of Style as it is described here, but should still maintain a style and format consistent with site editing standards.
Content
The following describes what content is allowed on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki.
No Cross-over Content | Articles created on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki should be written from an in-universe perspective: as if the Bleach universe was the real world and not fiction. This means no crossovers are allowed on this wiki. This also means that creating "fourth wall" pages, such as proposed fan-made video game series, are not allowed as they are told from a "meta perspective" that acknowledges Bleach is fiction. Inspiration from other sources is acceptable, but simply copy-pasting themes from other media is not permitted and is considered plagiarism. This also includes taking concepts from other anime or manga series and giving them a "Bleach twist" (changing the most minimal amount of information so that it "technically" fits while still resembling the original concept too closely). |
Official Language | All content on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki is expressed in English. Spelling should follow the American English standard for page titles and official site-related content. However, users are allowed to use British/Canadian spelling within the body of the articles. The exception to this rule are any powers, techniques, races, organizations, etc. whose titles are in non-English languages. In these cases, languages must be romanized so that they can be found using the wiki's internal search Engine. ONLY the name of the article may be in a non-English language: the content of the article must be in English. All users are required to use written English to a degree that they are communicable (able to be understood clearly) and observe standard conventions (the article contains few grammatical errors). |
Images | All images put on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki should strictly adhere to the Image Policy:
|
Comments | Comments should be directly related to the article, and should be primarily used for article feedback. This includes suggestions to the original author for article improvement. For specific questions about editing, please use Discussions or contact a member of the administration directly. All comments must follow wiki's Terms of Use: aggressive or inappropriate comments will be deleted. |
Minimum Content for Page Creation | Any user is allowed to create any character on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki so long as that character meets the following criteria.
|
Format
Sections | A character article is divided up into many different sections so that it easier for users to jump to specific points of information within the article. On Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki, there are four major sections that must be included on all character pages and they are: Appearance, Personality, History and Powers & Abilities. These sections must fall under the first header tier. For example, in Source Edit mode, == Appearance ==
|
Section Order | All character articles should follow the section order described below:
|
Translations | Full translations of non-English words and phrases used on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki are required so that all users can understand. For articles with non-English titles, the first sentence of the article should contain a translation of the title, with the exception of character names. A non-English term only needs to be defined ONCE in the body of the article. Common Bleach-related terms, such as Reiatsu, Reishi, Sonido, etc. do not need to be defined. The following format should be followed for translations:
On this site, all article titles that use Japanese should follow the macron system. This means long vowels should use ā ī ū ē ō as opposed to "ou", "aa", etc. For example, "Zanpakutou" would be titled "Zanpakutō." Users may use other systems of Japanese romanization within the body of the article. However, it is highly recommended that they use macrons to maintain site-wide consistency. |
Links | Articles may NOT contain full hyperlinks such as [https://bleachfanfiction.fandom.com/wiki/Page Name]. Full links unnecessarily bloat the byte count of the articles. Instead, links must be shortened by using:
Since it is necessary to use a full hyperlink for a non-wiki webpage, Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki strongly encourages users to limit as much as possible the use of external (non-wiki) links. |
Capitalizing Words | Capitalization of words should follow general American English guidelines. The first letter of every title is always capitalized. All proper nouns, including Zanpakutō, technique, character, etc. names, are capitalized. For the purposes of this site, article titles should have all nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs capitalized. Parts of speech, such as articles (the, an, and a) and conjunctions (but, yet) should be lowercase. If a preposition has four or more letters, it should be capitalized. Example: For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Commonly-used Japanese terms, such as kimono, sushi, etc., do not need to be capitalized. However, specific terms such as Karate must follow standard capitalization guidelines. |
Named Attacks | Individual pages may be created for techniques and attacks so long as:
|
Groups & Organizations | Any group and/or organization may have its own page. When doing so, please provide a list of the known members on the page. An organization created with no members is considered a stub and may be subject to deletion. Use the "Organizations" category for all organizations, groups, teams, etc. |
Locations | Any location may have its own page as long there is sufficient information to warrant the creation of an article and it is not a real-world location that can be linked to on Wikipedia. |
Moving Pages |
|
Violations
General Vandalism |
|
Edit Bloat | When editing, please keep in mind that you can edit specific sections, such as a personality section individually. Avoid editing multiple sections of the same page in quick succession, which is known as "edit fluffing." Instead, click the edit button at the very top of the page to edit the entire page at once. |
Consequences | Articles found not to be in compliance with the guidelines described above will have the MoS Violation added to their article. The creator of the article has a one (1) week grace period to fix the entire article in order to comply with the Manual of Style. If no changes are made, the article will be deleted. Removal of the MoS tag or continuous violations of this policy by the same user will result in a block. |
