Greetings one and all, old-timers, newcomers and happy pumpkins! Today I've decided to bring up an important matter with you all, as well as providing the means to fix it. As is well known, Energy Expenditure is a pretty important balancing point in roleplays, and yet it is all too often brushed aside and ignored.

This is rarely a result of actual deliberate intent to powergame, but is instead done out of habit or forgetfulness, as most people do not actually pay much heed to their characters energy levels, I've been guilty of this myself. Those that do rely on their own personal system, with percentage counting being the most popular.

However, I believe this site, and many other roleplaying sites in general could be best served by a detaile…

Alright. I'm not usually one to be opposed to change. Change can be a good thing. If wiki changes their design and it facilitates the flow of information, makes things easier to access and such, then I'm cool with that.

But, can I take a moment here to vent.

HOW MANY TIMES IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS HAVE THEY CHANGED NEEDLESS SHIT LIKE THE SEARCH BAR AND POPULAR PAGE SECTION!??!?!??!?! When are they gonna make actually useful changes I wonder?

Yeah don't answer that. I know it will be "never." But ah, one can hope I suppose.

Anyway, while I have your attention, just kind of on a side note, with the new Bleach movie supposedly coming out or what-not, I wanted to ask you guys as a wiki as a whole: How do you think Bleach should have ended?

    Personally,…

Hello everybody. Depending on where you are in the world, the first of January has either came already for you or is coming up very soon, and ultimately so, the year of 2017 has finally come. Therefore, I'd like to issue to all of you a very happy New Years. As we say goodbye to 2016, which contained its share of joy, sadness, miracles, disappointments, and so on, we look forward to the future in hopes of better tidings. Perhaps some of you hope that things go well for your family, or well in your relationships, or perhaps you're like me and you hope 2017 is finally the year you find someone special lon…

    Happy Holidays!

    December 16, 2016 by Hibridragon

Hellooooo everyone! I know this is very strange for you all (considering the fact that this is too early, and I don't normally write blogs, and I haven't been one that's always there with you guys and the stuff that's happening at the moment) but I just wanna say happy holidays! I sincerely hope you all experience the most wondrous Christmas's magic has to offer, and the happiest new year celebration! Personally, December hasn't been my greatest time, but I'm still expecting greater things to come XD Let me just say that returning here was one of the best choices I've ever picked in my life. I also wanna say thank you all for welcoming me back and sorry to those I've wronged during my time here. So...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Alright, I've been meaning to write about this issue for a while now, which issue is that you might ask? Well, the issue of Character Design in regards to creating characters with engaging abilities, talents and a role in roleplays. It is my desire to see a wealth of great characters on this wiki, and for every user to have at least one character of good design which they can be proud of and eager to employ in roleplays.

But before we begin, what exactly do I mean when I mention Character Design? Well, I'm primarily talking about Powers & Abilities, as that is the part of the character that is most essential for the purpose of roleplay: given how personalities tend to come by themselves as the character interacts with others.

    Now you may be …

    Direction of the Coven

    December 1, 2016 by Njalm2

Greetings one and all, it is me, Nanja, here with an update regarding the Coven's ultimate goal and a few different scenarios we might go for. Because at this point it is pretty clear that it was a mistake of me to focus on subtlety when the need for that has long since vanished thanks to their enormous power. Usually, when I'm wondering about story directions, I consult with Void, and he gave me some pretty cool ideas for us to work with, and I've also got some ideas of my own.

Typically I write paragraphs upon paragraphs upon even more paragraphs when I make blogs, but this time, I'll try to be a tad more succinct. We'll see how that works out for me.

Essentially, what I realize needs to happen is that the Coven needs to make good on their…

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Even if you aren't in the U.S. of A., at least you can be thankful for the glories that America has brought to the world. Such as the internet, masking tape, Twinkies, and.... hmm, yeah, we'll stop there. But happy Thanksgiving anyway.

Also, according to a very reliable source (*Google*, *cough cough*), it looks as though there might be a live action Bleach movie coming out in 2018.

Yes, I can see that your enthusiasm is practically spilling over. Please, try to contain yourselves. (>___>).

Well folks, that wraps things up.

Bleach has finally come to a close after 15 years of serialization. And while there are mixed feelings regarding the ending, the manga as a whole, and Kubo himself, it has still been a large part of our manga-reading lives; enough that we run and operate a fanfiction site for the series.

While it isn't the anniversary quite yet, BFF itself has operated since 2008 and thus we celebrate roughly 8 years of operation on this year. It was founded back then by Blackemo1, Cyberweasel89, and our resident Lewis Black and Jack Sparrow crossover, Ten.

Though ironically, if I do remember what Ten told me, I was originally the one who suggested him to check out Bleach. Bleach, in turn, many moons ago, was first introduced…

    Hey everyone,

I know I haven't been on in a long time. My lack of enthusiasm for Bleach caught the best of me and I haven't really been following the manga for the majority of the arc. I finally sat down and got caught up to speed and I have to say that I'm not particularly enjoying this final arc. Seems very all over the place, inconsistent pacing and a very rushed conclusion. Though I've seen reports that Bleach is officially ending in Chapter 685, so that leaves two more chapters with the last chapter possibly being longer.

I'm writing this post because I'm wondering how the fandom is enjoying the arc or if there are any glaring issues you wished resolved. Personally, I have a few things that I thought were going to be the primary things …

Alright. This is the first time I've done one of these blogs. I posted this originally on Bleach Asylum (the manga discussion forum that I joined a year ago) but wanted to hear what you guys all had to say about the latest chapter as well.

That chapter was, in my opinion, historically bad for Bleach. So bad that I had to write this. I just had to get it out of my system. (And yes I wrote this instead of an FC post. You can kill me later.) But anyway.

Pros: Okay, Haschy’s death was the highlight of the chapter. The characterization in the end was nice, as other users have pointed out, because it called to attention the fact that Haschy has always been a follower (albeit a lonely one), and one who regrets his decisions yet knows he can do noth…

Okay, wow. Never thought I'd be making another blog pertaining to my lack of meaningful activity on the Wikia. Ah, fuck it. In doesn't need to be said but after Sei's most recent blog, I figured I'd finally speak my peace. I'm no fan of any Wikia that is overrun with an infestation of pretentious ass holes that act like they deserve a fucking Nobel Peace Prize for contributing to a fictional continuity. I've had my personal run-ins with people like that over on Powerlisting, and I don't give a fuck if any of them see this (which they probably won't) or not.

That being said, something Xilinoc wrote reminded me of something I was always trying to push deep down and ignore. Everything I write, most is a "badly written, unoriginal, plagiarizing…

    Hey guys.

So I don't know which of you keep track of the goings-on of Bleach Wiki, since they are the canon site to our fan fiction site and all, but for those of you who do tend to read Xilinoc's weekly blog reviewing the Bleach manga chapters, I'm sure you've noticed that trash-talking BFF is one of their favorite hobbies. In particular, they like to take pan shots at me and .

Now, of course, this got me riled up. Very annoyed. And perhaps it's only me getting annoyed since technically 90% of their trash-talking is directed toward me specifically, but I assure you, comments like:

    Hybrids

Ready for round three, folks? No? Ha, too bad.

Today we're going to talk about one of the more complicated aspects of Bleach: the hybrids. Hybrids are a common thing in most any kind of fiction, half-elves, half-dragons, half-aliens and so on. Its an incredibly common trend, because it allows people to be "unique", after all, when everyone around is an Elf, you'd stand out for being that one woman with the Human ears. Many forms of fiction will set out to accommodate this kind of thing, like rulesets in D&D for a variety of half-and-half races, or a fairly popular example that can be found in the recent superhero series ' where 80% of the population of Earth in its universe have gained a "Quirk"…

    May 30, 2016 by Blankslate

Hey guys, I have to break some news that's been on my mind for a very long time.

Well... ever since then, I have been trying my best to live up to all of those promises I made but... I'm sorry, I can't write for Bleach anymore. I rarely think about the series or the characters I've made for it anymore these days, and any time I try to write for a character or for an RP, my brain and hands fall flat.

I truly have no more interest for this series, nor any of my works for this wiki or the sister wiki. I hate for this to be so short, as I know my contributions are yet to be finished here, but I'm sorry folks: I can't muster the i…

Greetings everyone, and welcome to the first installment of a new blog series from me titled "Nanja's Classroom" where I go in detail about a number of roleplaying tips and tricks that I've picked up in my 13 years of roleplaying experience.

In this installment I'll be detailing what is probably one of the most misunderstood topics of roleplaying and character creation: weaknesses.

The common misconception is that weaknesses should be abandoned or at least grow less and less relevant the stronger your character becomes. But that is false, and in this guide I'll attempt to tell you why.

In simple terms, a weakness is a deficiency within your character, a flaw that might be exploited by a cunning foe or in some cases, an ally in order to produc…

This is just to keep everyone interested in the FC and also to brush up on character interactions, so it’s completely unofficial and is entirely up to you whether you want to participate or not. The plot is pretty simple: The Shinigami Women’s Association has decided to throw a banquet in honor of all the captains. There will be food, dancing, karaoke, booze, and shenanigans no doubt. I’ve posted the RP here: Disco Inferno, Night of Legend. Feel free to reply whenever you want, and we’ll see how this thing goes.

Yep, the title pretty much says it all. I’ve decided to shift the focus of Regimen and Tonic to a more writerly advice type blog, and decided to kick things off with character personality. Why? Because personally, one of the most daunting sections I face when writing a character’s article is the personality section. (That and the powers and abilities section, but that’s another issue entirely). The pressure comes from the fact that I want to give my characters believable personalities that match with their own little motives and goals while avoiding inconsistency. In other words, I want to portray …

Enter the Mystic World: An Overview of Onmyōdō

There’s been a surge of interest in magic on BFF lately, and by that I mean magic in general: , , , etc. Now, I’m no expert in magic myself, but I figured it would be beneficial to both me and others to do some research on onmyōdō. Why? Because I am using it as inspiration for how one of my characters uses Kidō, and I know several others will be or already have been doing the same. At a glance onmyōdō can sort of be overwhelming. Its history is complex and, like the mystical art itself, rather esoteric. To that end I am hoping to provide some clarity on the subject, but I’ll try to be as concise as possible since I know how valua…

Although there's been other candidates, none others among them have been found to measure up to these two titans of the spirit arts. This is a pretty difficult decision for me to make, because I've found that in my roleplays with them, where I've observed how each of them utilizes Kidō, and they're roughly equal, even if Sei and Saris have different strengths.

Saris is an exceptionally capable writer, who is quite resourceful and unorthodox, his weakness is largely that he seems over reliant on predetermined spells in order to get an edge. Fumio therefore ha…

As promised, I've prepared a blog to discuss my thoughts regarding the Fanon Canon now that it seems interest has sparked once more. I'd hate to lose that so let's strike while the iron is hot, shall we?

I've split my thoughts below in the following sections, so please read along, and at the end of it, I want to hear your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions for moving forward as well. So let's get into it, shall we?

I'm sure there's a lot of answers to this. A lack of interest, disconnection between eachother, too many plots going on at once, too many future plots being invested into before the current arc was finished, and so on. We want to pin the blame on something, but does it matter? Things fell apart. And that's all that matters. Now w…

As I was working on my character, of whose completion is very near. YAY! I began thinking of what part he would play in the FC. Then, I began thinking about the FC in and of itself. We all know that site wide collaborations are difficult. So, I figured that we could all use a little practice considering we just now decided to bring the Fanon Canon back. And what better way than to revamp the Opposition against the Shiroyasha! I know, I know. You guys must be thinking one of two things, maybe even both:

    • "Are you fucking serious? Aren't you just NOW recovering from the last time?" The answer is yes, I'm just now completing my character after several revamps I did, bent on destroying Seireitou. But, it's been years and I'd like to think that …

    Regarding the FC

    November 2, 2015 by Blankslate

Ello ello there ladies n' gents. How've we been? I know everyone here has missed me and just begged to know where I've been, as none of you can even hope to edit or even survive without my good graces. Don't you all just thank whatever god you worship to have me? Am I not your second coming?

    ... -rolls eyes-

In all honesty though, it's good to be back, even if I'm not doing much, and it's even better to see that the wiki is still thriving with activity (even if Bleach itself has hit a dry spot in my opinion). This is especially in regards to the FC, which is the main thing that I was hoping to get back into. However, this also made me think back on what caused the FC to falter and eventually fail entirely, and I think that I shouldn't just k…

Hello everybody! Happy Halloween! ...Don't worry, this isn't Halloween-themed.

Since we're revisiting the Fanon Canon, and I see everybody slowly picking things up in regards to that, I thought of a small little activity for us to do just to get back into the mindset of many of our Gotei 13 members and whatnot. This is meant just for a little fun.

Now then. There are two distinct Bleach anime songs — one opening and one ending — that I think might be fun to visualize with our own characters on it.

Namely, Opening 10 "Shoujo S" (link for which is here) and Ending 20 "Mad Surfer" (link can be found here).

The first one, Opening 10, basically features all of the Gotei 13 Captains and Lieutenants in specific poses and whatnot. What might be fun for …

Hey guys, so, I'm here with some stuff regarding the FC.

The actual blog regarding our return to the FC will be posted tomorrow night after I get my thoughts together. But before that, I wanted to present this first.

Since we have wanted to implement a political angle to the FC, I figure the best way to do this is to flesh out .

My plan is that everybody interested in the FC is permitted the creation of two wise men out of the total 40 wise men for the FC Central 46, without needing permission from me to do so, and if we still need to make more afterwards, everybody will get maybe one or two more available to them. Now, keep in mind, just because they are called "wise men", doesn't mean female members can't be made. In fact, going off of the sto…

Hey everybody, how y'all doing? So, as many of you are aware, Kubo released a fanbook a while back named "The 13 Blades". While it isn't exactly a databook revealing a lot of information, it did give us some interesting stuff and shed some light on a couple things worth looking into, including what Kubo thinks about when he creates characters, what characters think of other characters, miscellaneous information, and of course, the creme de la creme, a short story focusing on Izuru Kira, Shaz Domino (didn't think he'd return, huh?), and a librarian girl from Central 46 named Nayura. There is also another short story about Hisagi and memories of his old friends who were killed by Hollows during that training exercise, but I couldn't find it.…

Hello everyone, so while I'm working on my next guide, I've got this small little thing just for fun. As some of you know, my character Otoya Kurogane has the ability to judge someones Price Level through his Fullbring, Crazy Accountant.

Price Level is something that is vaguely similar to things like Doriki, Power Level and other similar Shonen concepts. It is however not random, and I assign it based upon a set of rules I've invented myself.

It involves looking at your characters article and determining their base power by looking at their skills, techniques or general abilities. With the exception of Release-type abilities, which it does not take into account.

There's essentially two primary categories which I use for this process, Captain-…

Beginner’s (Short!) Guide to Japanese Translations

The time has come. You’ve joined a wiki, come up with an idea for a character, and are ready to start writing your article. But then you come across a problem... you can’t figure out how to translate Awesome-san’s awesome technique of awesome-ness into proper Japanese! And how are you supposed to write a proper Bleach character unless they can run around swinging giant swords and yelling “Getsuga tenshō!!!” all the time. And how did gibberish like “Getsuga tenshō!!!” end up sounding so badass in the first place?

Well, I’m here to help. Like 99.9% of the people on this wiki, I don’t speak Japanese. I am trying to learn Japanese though, which means I am …

Alright. So, I made a deal with Njalm; I told him that, after he went and made a post to the original, that I would go out of my way to try and finalize this idea. If you're seeing this, that means he's already fulfilled his end of the bargain. Anyway, let's get down to it, shall we? Ahem. So, as you may already know, I'm wishing to present an idea that was originally entitled "The Eleven Supernova." Zf6hellion gave them the temporary name of "Those With Potential", but Njalm has finalized the name for us "Juusanseiza", or "Thirteen Constellations".

    • How it's achieved, and it's endowment: The Central 46, as both Z6fhellion and Kenji both stated, would be the most logical choice as to those who impart the title. Now, as to how it's achieved, …
