Dunamar (砂丘, Sakyuu; Spanish for Dune Sea, Japanese for Sand Dune) is a fortress located within Hueco Mundo that is protected by a fierce unnatural sandstorm. Following the destruction of the Forest of Menos resulting from the clash of Kusaka Kori and Averian immediately following the Collapse, it became Averian's primary base of operations, though for what remains a mystery. It was also the place where Averian recovered his power over a sixteen year period following the end of the First Spiritual War, where he was guarded by Sōjirō Kusaka. Dunamar was discovered shortly after The Collapse by Sanada Shirono to Shūhei Hisagi, who escaped with unexpected help from Ashido Kanō.
