Powers and Abilities[]
Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Darius is a master of hand-to-hand combat, his skill rivalling that of the 2nd Division captain. Given the choice, he prefers to fight unarmed, or with his Zanpakutō released.
Flash Steps Master: Darius, being a captain, has great skill with flash steps, able to move great distances in a single step.
Master Swordsmanship Specialist: Darius is also a master swordsman, being able to fight evenly with most captains, however he prefers hand-to-hand combat.

Kuro Tokage
Kuro Tokage (Black Lizard)
In it's sealed state, Kuro Tokage takes the form of a katana with a square tsuba. The hilt, crossguard and sheath are all black.
- Shikai: It's release command is “Moyasu” (Burn). Kuro Tokage transforms into a pair of black gauntlets, and Darius gains a black, sleeveless vest.
- Shikai Special Ability: When in Shikai, Kuro Tokage gains the ability to manipulate and create fire. Any fire created or controlled by Kuro Tokage burns incredibly hot, burn almost anything it touches.
- Flame Fists: Darius can coat the gauntlets in flame, causing the damage of his blows to be supplemented by the flame, and causing near misses to burn his opponents lightly.
- Flame Blasts: Darius can fire balls of flame from the gauntlets, which can be used to reduce the effects of projectile attacks, such as kidō or cero.
Kuro Akuma Tokage
- Bankai: Kuro Akuma Tokage (Black Demon Lizard): Upon entering bankai, the Darius' body becomes covered with red markings across his torso, arms and face, grows a black, reptilian tail, and black horns sprout from his head.
- Bankai Special Ability: In bankai, the fire manipulation abilities of his shikai are increased, allowing for more powerful attacks and more fine tuned control. Furthermore, Darius' speed and strength are also increased, as well as his spiritual power.
- Flame Cannon: By creating a large and powerful flame in his hands, Darius can fire a continuous stream of flames at the enemy, with enough power to burn through solid rock fairly quickly. This technique is incredibly powerful, equalling a low ranked espada's cero.
