Hikone Ubuginu (産絹彦禰, Ubuginu Hikone) is an androgynous Soul who constantly follows Tokinada Tsunayashiro as his protogé. It is suggested that Hikone has the same "potential" as Ichigo Kurosaki in relation to the Soul King, as Tokinada wishes to use Hikone as a "lynchpin."

Appearance

While stated to be "about fifteen," Hikone has the appearance of a younger child with androgynous features. They have dark skin, grayish hair, and crimson eyes. Hikone carries their weapon, which appears to be a long, wrapped sword, slung across their back and attached by a chain. They wear an allegedly altered shihakushō with long, detached sleeves, small shorts, and shin guards with no shoes.

Personality

Hikone is impulsive, although they obey Tokinada's orders. Hikone also enjoys watching Tokinada torture others.

History

Hikone was created by Tokinada Tsunayashiro during the six months that occured between the end of the Thousand Year Blood War and Shūhei Hisagi's investigation into the affairs of the Noble Houses. In order to create Hikone, Tokinada combined various fragments of the Soul King, along with elements of Shinigami, Quincy, and Fullbringers. Afterwards he charged his subordinate, Aura Michibane, with the completion of the task due to her ability to manipulate the nature of the disparate elements in order to combine them in the form of a new "Soul King." She stated that it was not necessary that the end result had a humanoid form so long as the Saketsu and Hakusui were left intact. For the final peace and to stabilize the composition of Hikone, a piece of Gremmy Thoumeaux's brain was used to form the nucleus of the brain.

Even though Aura successfully completed the formation of Hikone, their recently created body was not in a physically stable condition, to the point where their muscles were not even joined to the bones. Because of this, Tokinada contaced Seinosuke Yamada, who used his medical abilities with healing Kidō (kaidō) to heal Hikone's malformed body.

Later, Tokinada gave Hikone the surname of Ubuginu, which was the name of an ancient and extinct clan that had once been the servants of the Tsunayashiro.
