Koryu Koren (龍が表示されたらシャイニングロータスで, lit. The Dragon that Appears within the Shining Lotus) is the manifested spirit of Rengyoku Shironami's Zanpakutō that is seen during the Zanpakutō Escapement arc.

Character Outline

Koryu Koren has long white hair, kept together in a unique hairstyle. He wears a red kimono with the top being a red and gold cloth symbolizing a war-like general uniform. His pants are long and simply black, with a pearl silk vest on top of his kimono, tying the uniform together. He has piercing evil yellow eyes, along with a trademark snaggletooth. In sharp contrast to the gentle and peace-loving Rengyoku, Koryu Koren is violent, prone to rampages and enjoys slashing his opponents again and again just to inflict torture, claiming this satisfies him. His most distinguishing feature is his maniacal laughter and psychotic grins. He is brutal, arrogant, sadistic and insane. He claims that his only reason for existence is to wait and see how Rengyoku will die. However, once released, he wants to kill everything and anything he sees; More specifically the Shinigami. Surprisingly, he also seems to respect Rengyoku's deeper power to a certain extent.
