Hand-to-Hand Combat Specialist: Not having a Zanpakutou, the Swordless Swordsman specializes in hand-to-hand combat.
Kido Specialist: To make up for not having a Zanpakutou, the Swordless Swordsman uses Kido to give him an edge. It is said that he has completely mastery over Kido, to the point where he can use a level 99 Bakudo or Hado without even saying the name of the spell, and can even combine them for extravagant effects.
Flash Steps Specialist: To further give him an edge over Zanpakutou-wielding Shinigami, the Swordless Swordsman has complete mastery of Flash Steps.
Vast Spiritual Power: Despite only being a Lieutenant, the Swordless Swordsman has the Reiryoku of an elite Captain.
Enhanced Strength: The Swordless Swordsman has immense physical strength, only to lift entire buildings. However, he usually holds back this strength when attacking.
Enhanced Endurance: Much like Kenpachi, the Swordless Swordsman can seemingly ignore major injuries and continue fighting. It's as if he simply won't die.
Enhanced Durability: The Swordless Swordsman shows almost total immunity to environments of extreme heat or extreme cold, and can hold his breath to battle underwater for hours.
Enhanced Speed: Speed really isn't the Swordless Swordsman's forte. However, he can easily keep up with the average Shinigami using Flash Steps.
Enhanced Senses: The Swordless Swordsman is shown to have keen senses of sight, hearing, and smell. He can see things far off in the distance, identify individual people based on the sound of their footsteps, and pick up on unusual scents in the environment that most people might not notice. It's even been said that he can smell the presence of Hollows due to their smells and footstep sounds.
Highly Perceptive Combatant: Though he seems drunk off his feet most of the time, when forced into actual combat he becomes serious and deadly. While not a great strategist, he can pick up on patterns in the enemy's fighting style if given some time. If given enough time, he can even figure out how an enemy's powers work.
